Taupe and chalk are the two most useful neutrals in a wardrobe, and here they arrive on one Kelly 25. Etoupe is the famous warm grey-brown of the classic palette, the colour of a stone wall in sunlight, and Craie is its chalk-white counterpart: flat, bright, slightly cool. Together with gold hardware they read calmly and expensively, without ever looking decorated.
On Epsom, both tones stay even, and the leather’s stiffness does what it does best by keeping the flap square and the corners crisp while you work through a full day. The 25 by 17 by 7 cm frame is the everyday size in this batch: phone, card holder, keys, compact, lipstick, one folded receipt you will forget to file.
The gold metal is the single warm accent, and against chalk it looks almost vintage, while against taupe it merges. This is a bag I wear to work with grey tailoring and to dinner with cream knitwear, and it has never looked out of place in either.
Honest note: the Craie side is the fragile half. It shows marks at the corners and handle roots faster than the Etoupe does, and dark denim is out of the question. If you are gentle with the pale panels and wipe them after long days, the pairing stays clean for years, and the two-tone effect keeps this from being just another beige bag.
