If someone asked me which bracelet in the drawer I would replace first, it would be this one. Black enamel on yellow gold is about as close to a do-everything piece as this category gets, and the narrow Clic H keeps it understated: a dark strap of enamel, a warm gold clasp, nothing else asking for attention. The listing gives a 6.7 inch wrist, with a band a hair under half an inch.
The design trick is the toggle. Turning it opens the bracelet and reveals the letter H, then closing it locks the two ends flat against each other, so from a metre away it looks like a solid ring. I have tested mine under a raincoat cuff and a wool sleeve, and the profile stays low enough to disappear and reappear as you move.
Wearing it, I default to black on black with a crisp shirt, which is sharper than jewellery and less formal than a watch. It also does something specific that I value: it allows the rest of the wrist to stay empty. With a gold band on the other arm and nothing else, the look is complete, so I travel with this bracelet and one ring and nothing more.
One honest trade-off: the glossy black surface shows fingerprint smudges in sunlight, and yellow gold plating darkens slightly with wear, which changes the contrast over years. Keep it dry, store it in the pouch, and neither of those is a problem. Made in France.
