Rose Extreme is not a name that oversells. This is the pink that survives a grey afternoon: deep, slightly fuchsia, unmistakable in a bag whose interior is entirely beige. I bought it as a small rebellion against my own habit of choosing neutrals, and it has out-performed every neutral I own in the ‘where is my wallet’ category.
The mini Bearn is a compact flap wallet of about ten by eight centimetres, and in practice that is enough for cards, a folded note and a couple of loose ends. The central section takes the paper odds and ends that seem to multiply — a parking ticket, a dry cleaner slip — without the flap bowing. Gold hardware gives the rose an extra degree of warmth, and the strap closes against its plate cleanly.
Epsom’s pressed, embossed surface is what keeps a shade this vivid from going chalky. The colour is in the leather rather than on it, so scuffs and handling do not turn the surface pale, and the grain itself resists water the way a good raincoat does. Mine has weathered a wet autumn and still looks even, with a faint shine along the front panel where my hand finds it in a bag.
One practical point: bright pinks and denim do not always negotiate well, and a pen loose in the same bag is a genuine hazard at this scale. Kept away from both, the Rose Extreme mini has held its colour without a single dull patch. That is the whole maintenance story.
