Yellow is a decision, and this is the friendliest version of it I know. Jaune Poussin is a clean, buttery chick-yellow, warmer and calmer than lemon, and on pebbled Togo with silver hardware it looks less like a statement and more like good weather. I first took mine out on a grey Tuesday, and it did more for the day than the coffee did.
Togo keeps the colour approachable. The pebbled grain softens the yellow into something textured and lived-in; there is no plastic brightness about it, and the matte finish means it flatters in daylight and does not glow under indoor lights. The 32 by 23 by 10.5 cm body takes a wallet, phone, keys, a pouch and sunglasses comfortably, and the turn-lock and straps work as smoothly as on any dark Kelly.
Styling is easier than people fear. White, navy, grey, stone and denim all hold their own next to it, and against an all-neutral outfit the bag becomes the whole point of the look. Silver hardware is the right call here; gold would have made the yellow sweeter than it wants to be.
Honest notes: yellow draws attention whether or not you are in the mood, so some mornings you will reach past it. And pale Togo can pick up a faint shadow from dark denim worn tight against the hip. If you want a bag that whispers, look elsewhere. If you want one that fixes a grey week, this one earns its keep.
