Blue Glacier earns its name indoors, where it reads as a frosty, almost white-blue. Step into sunlight and the colour warms a degree and shows its grey-green undertone. Buying it for one season would be a mistake; it is the rare pale blue with no temperature of its own.
The Evelyne 16’s 16 by 18 by 5 cm body in Clemence keeps this cool shade friendly, because pebbled leather reads softer than smooth, so the bag never looks icy or severe. Silver hardware is the obvious match, and the adjustability of the strap means it wears as a high crossbody or a neat shoulder bag depending on the coat underneath.
In the bag: phone, cardholder, keys, lip balm. On a hot day, add a single sunscreen stick and accept that it lives diagonally. This is a small bag and pretending otherwise is how people end up disappointed; it is best used as your everything bag for hours, not days.
An honest note on upkeep: pale Clemence resists stains better than it looks like it should, but the strap edge and the back panel are where any grime shows first. A dry cloth weekly keeps mine looking like new, which I think is a fair bargain for a colour this good in photographs.
For someone whose summers are linen and stone, this blue was made for that uniform, and for the months that follow it.
