I keep this one in the hall because it is the bag I grab for errands that turn into lunch. Colour 37 Gold, the honeyed camel this work is known for, looks warm in every light, and on the small Evelyne it reads as easy rather than precious, even after a year of hard weekends.
There is a nice symmetry in the pairing: gold-coloured leather, gold-tone hardware. The effect is tonal rather than flashy, and the Clemence grain gives the whole bag a soft, faded richness that only shows when it is in your hand. The measurements are the usual small frame, 16 x 18 x 5 cm, with the strap set for crossbody wear.
Contents, as used: phone, keyring, a slim wallet and sunglasses in their cloth; on slower days, a small notebook replaces the sunglasses. That fills it properly, with the notebook resting exactly against the wall. The bag dislikes being overpacked, and its limit is honest and useful: with the right few things in it, everything stays findable.
Trade-off worth knowing: this camel tone sits close to some wooden and terracotta surfaces, so when I set it down on a cafe table I keep an eye on it. And Clemence, lovely as it is, is the heaviest leather in the range, though the small size keeps that weight negligible.
A first tan crossbody, or the only one you will ever need to own.
