I test a card holder the way I test shoes: load it, carry it for a week, note where it rubs. The 8p Blomb R.M.S. went into my coat pocket on a Saturday and stayed there. Ten and a half centimetres across, seven tall, it lies flat in a shallow pocket, and those two centimetres of depth are the part people underestimate — enough for a real stack rather than a token three cards.
My own load is four payment cards, a transit pass, a folded note and one loyalty card I refuse to digitise. The top card pulls free without a fight. Evecolor calfskin has a fine, even grain and a low sheen that looks closer to matte outdoors; it is a firm leather, so the shape stays square months in and the buffers do not gape the way soft lambskin does. The Blomb tone is one of those finishes that reads differently in daylight and lamplight, which I have come to like more than I expected.
The enamel fittings are what I keep noticing. Rather than plain polished metal, the closure carries a colour-cured enamel detail that sits flush with the leather and takes the shine down a notch. Weeks of pocket life with keys nearby, and it still has no scratch deep enough to catch a nail.
One honest note: smooth calfskin this firm will eventually show faint handling lines, especially if keys share the same pocket. Mine buffed back with a thumb and a minute of patience. Treat it like a good notebook cover rather than a lucky charm and it ages quietly.
