Two things live in my front trouser pocket: a phone and this. The MC² Euclide at 10.5 by 7.5 cm is a shade larger than the cards it holds, which is exactly the margin you want, since cards that fill a holder edge to edge are impossible to pull out one-handed.
Etoupe’s grey-brown is the most forgiving tone in this range when it comes to fingerprints and the lint that follows dark cloth, and against Epsom’s stamped grain it keeps a quiet, dusty elegance. There is no metal anywhere on the piece, so nothing rattles against a phone screen.
I run eight cards and a folded note, arranged by how often I need them: transit at the front, bank cards next, everything else behind. The Epsom panels are stiff enough that the holder keeps a straight line in the pocket, but they give just enough at the mouth for a thumb to slide a card free.
The trade-off, plainly: no coins, no receipt collection, no backup cards for six different shops. If your daily carry has a wallet-sized hole rather than a card-sized one, look at the H Passant range instead. If you want to stop feeling a lump in your pocket, this is the piece.
If you are switching from a classic wallet, expect an adjustment period of about a week, spent patting your pocket to check the holder is still there. After that, most people I know never go back; a billfold starts to feel like a paperback in your trousers. For a summer jacket with nothing in it but keys, that difference is everything.
