Same Etoupe, different metal, different bag. With silver hardware, the taupe of this Lindy 26 swings cooler and greyer – put it next to a stone wall and it disappears into the architecture, which is either the point or the problem depending on your taste. I happen to love it.
Twenty-six centimetres wide, eighteen tall and twelve deep: the personal Lindy, in Clemence, with its pebbled grain, folded top and that slouchy, parcel-like carry. On grey wool or white linen it looks like it was chosen by someone with a plan. The cool hardware also suits winter better than warm metal does, I think.
Mine carries the usual: a compact wallet, a phone, keys, sunglasses, and a small zip pouch with hand cream and chargers. The two outside pockets hold a phone and a card case, and the strap adjusts long enough to clear a heavy coat without riding up.
Honest limitations: silver on taupe can read slightly austere in photographs, and this neutral will never be the bag anyone compliments from across a room. Also, the light leather collects faint marks from dark clothing over time; mine cleans up with a leather wipe, but it is a maintenance bag rather than a toss-it-around bag.
For the minimalist who wants one bag per season, it earns its shelf space. Paired with silver jewellery and a grey knit, the effect is deliberate and slightly cool, which is the register I aim for most mornings.
