People write to me asking whether a white bag is a mistake. My answer is almost always the same: only if you want it to be one. Nata is the off-white I reach for when black feels like a shrug — it lifts a dark coat, stands up to denim, and looks the way you remember summer. The trade-off is upkeep, and I would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.
This is the Lindy 26 in Taurillon Clemence, and the pairing is why it earns its place. Clemence is a soft, pebbled bull leather with a matte finish — no gloss at all, just a grain you can feel. Against Nata’s warm chalk tone, gold hardware looks almost honeyed. The 26 by 18 by 12 cm body is the proportion that made this shape: roomy for a full day, small enough to sit on a cafe chair without ceremony.
What fits: a phone, a cardholder, keys, sunglasses in a soft case, a lipstick, a slim water bottle — with the two outer pockets kept for a transit pass and a hair tie. The twin handles fold down when I switch to the shoulder strap, which is the whole trick of the Lindy: hand-carried at lunch, cross-body on the walk home.
Honest notes. Nata is a commitment. New denim can print a shadow onto pale corners, so I test dark jeans for a few wears before pairing them. Rain is a no. Mine lives in its dust bag with air around it, and I clean the grain with a dry cloth, never anything wet. Do that and Nata stays Nata.
