Blue Lin takes its name from linen, and the reference is exactly right: it is a pale, airy blue with a touch of grey, the color of a shirting fabric hanging on a line. If you have ever built an outfit around a fine blue shirt, you already know how this bag behaves — it is the calm layer that makes warmer colors look intentional.
Gold hardware is a warmer pairing than you might expect against a pale blue, and it works the way a brass frame works against a watercolor. The leather is pebbled Clemence over a 26 by 18 by 12 centimetre body, soft and slightly puddled when half full, which is a look — not an accident — if you treat the shape as part of the design.
What lives inside: sunglasses, phone, a thin wallet, keys, hand cream, and a light scarf in most seasons. The zipped side pockets are my favorite detail for two things at once: a transit card in one, small bills in the other, because a pale bag should never be the one where you are digging.
Honest note, and it repeats across pale colors for good reason: light blue shows street wear around the corners sooner than you want to admit, and it is not a color for heavy denim contact. But it stays clean-looking far longer than any white does. Side by side, I keep this one out while the chalk-white pieces rest in their dust bags.
