Some combinations need no explanation, and black Togo with silver hardware is one of them. What surprises me about this particular pouch is how formal it looks from a distance and how relaxed it feels in the hand, because the pebbled surface keeps it from reading like a briefcase.
At 25 cm wide by 19.5 cm tall and 4 cm deep, it is the size of a large notebook and holds the same amount: a passport, a slim wallet, a phone and a pen, with the flap closing flat. Slide a tablet in and you have defeated the point of a folio this thin.
The metalwork is polished and cool against the black, which is why I chose silver here; gold on black tends to look dressier than I want for a working pouch. Togo takes daily bag life without complaint, and light dusting with a cloth is usually the only care it needs.
The trade-off is lint. Black leather is a magnet for pale fibers and dust, and I keep a microfibre cloth in my desk drawer for exactly that reason. It takes ten seconds and keeps the flap looking new.
If you are choosing between this and the dark-hardware version, the decision is smaller than it looks: both are Noir, both are Togo. Silver warms the outline and catches light along the flap; the darker finish vanishes and leaves only the shape. I own one of each, and the silver goes to work more often.
