Mauve Pale is the color I recommend to people who say they are not pink people. It is a grey-lilac, like the seam of an oyster shell, and it changes character with the sky, brightening to faint rose in sun and cooling to silver under cloud. On the crisp Epsom structure of this 25, the effect is calm and deliberate.
I took mine to a garden lunch where every other bag was black, and it did more for a linen dress than any jewelry would have. That is the job this color does: it makes simple clothes look considered.
Inside, the 25 x 17 x 7 cm measurements keep you honest. A phone, cardholder, keys, lipstick and a folded pair of sunglasses fit; anything beyond that starts staging a coup at the flap. I use the interior zip pocket for a spare key and earrings, and the bag stays feather-light, which is half the reason it travels with me.
Silver hardware is the correct metal here. Gold would warm the lilac into something fonder than I want, while silver lets the grey edge stay visible.
One thing to weigh honestly: pale mauve is a fair-weather friend in more than one sense. It can look washed grey under fluorescent office light, and pale Epsom will mark long before darker colors do. Kept to daylight and treated with a bit of care, though, it remains the most restful bag in my regular rotation.
