A red wallet is a confidence trick you play on yourself: nobody else sees it, and it still changes how you feel when you pay for something. This rouge is a true, saturated red, not a brick and not a burgundy, and with gold hardware it glows like enamel.
As a Constance To Go it measures 20 x 3.5 x 12 cm. The layout handles what a wallet has to: cards stacked in the slots, cash folded flat, the middle free for coins and a spare key. The enamel clasp is the signature. Worn on the strap it becomes a small crossbody for evenings when you want colour and nothing else.
Notes on Epsom in a strong red. The pressed grain is tough, so daily handling will not scuff it, and the colour is dyed through, which means the edges stay red instead of turning white the way cheaper leathers do. What will dull it is sun; a red wallet left on a car dashboard will fade unevenly. Mine has stayed rich because it is stored closed and away from the window. Epsom also wipes down quickly, which is what you want in a wallet that gets handled every day.
Against grey, denim and black it looks like a decision rather than an accident. That is the whole idea. I bought it to prove a point to myself, and it has made the point every day since.
