Orange is a commitment. The first time I wore this Constance 19 out, a florist stopped me on the pavement to ask about it, and that tells you most of what you need to know: this is not the bag you choose for anonymity. Worn with denim and a white shirt, though, it looks like the most natural thing in the world.
The 19 x 15 cm body is four centimetres slim and made of Epsom, the heat-embossed calfskin with a fine crosshatch grain that keeps its shape no matter how you pack it. A phone, a card case and keys disappear inside with room left for a lipstick, and the flap sits flat instead of puckering — the quiet advantage of a rigid leather.
Gold hardware against 93 Orange is the classic combination for a reason: the warm metal pulls the orange toward terracotta in low light, which makes it wearable past sunset. Crossbody on the long strap it reads casual; run it doubled over the shoulder and it becomes a dinner bag.
The trade-off, honestly, is firmness. Epsom does not mould to your body the way softer leathers do, and some people find that stiff at first. I find it practical: the corners stay sharp, rain beads off the surface, and the embossing shrugs off wear that would mark smooth calfskin in a week.
Just know that orange at this scale is a statement from across the street, not a whisper — it plays best against denim, navy and camel, and patterned outfits are a gamble I would not take.
