Etoupe is the colour I recommend to anyone who wants one bracelet instead of five. In daylight it reads warm, a soft grey-brown like a stone wall in afternoon sun; indoors, under cooler light, it turns almost grey. That flip is not a fault, it is the reason the shade sits comfortably with both black and camel in the same wardrobe.
This is the narrow Clic H, listed at 6.7 inches around the wrist, with a band about 0.47 inches wide and a rose gold plated finish. The closure is a toggle that turns and reveals a letter H, so opening and closing the bracelet takes a couple of seconds once you have the feel. I like that the mechanism is on show rather than hidden under a flap.
Styling is almost too easy. I wear it against a tan trench in spring, with a grey suit when the outfit needs something softer than a watch, and on holiday with white linen, where the taupe looks sun-warmed rather than flat. It also layers well under a cuff, showing just a half-inch of enamel and a suggestion of gold at the wrist when you gesture.
The trade-off to accept before you buy: subtle neutrals do not photograph with much drama, so if you want a bracelet that announces itself in pictures, choose a stronger colour. In person it is the opposite, quietly making everything else look better. Keep it away from perfume and from chlorinated water. Made in France.
