Pale blue gets typecast as a summer colour, and I think that is a mistake worth correcting. I carried this 8U Blue Glacier through a grey February with charcoal knitwear, and the icy tone did everything a white bag is meant to do — lift the outfit, sharpen the neutrals — with none of white’s anxiety. It is a cool colour, but not a cold one.
The recipe is the familiar Constance one: a shade under twenty centimetres wide, fifteen tall, four deep, in heat-embossed Epsom that holds a crisp line even when nearly empty. Sunglasses without a case, a phone, cards and keys travel cleanly in the slim gusset, and nothing slides around because there is nowhere to slide.
Gold hardware is the warmer choice here and saves the pale blue from reading clinical. The clasp lines up with the flap precisely, something you register every time you close the bag, and the strap spans crossbody on taller frames as well as shorter ones.
Two honest notes. Pale Epsom marks more readily than mid-tone leathers — nothing dramatic, but you will notice lived-in edges first here. And raw denim is its natural enemy: indigo transfer is real and permanent, so keep the two apart in the early months. The compensation is that the embossed surface wipes clean beautifully and light scratches truly vanish into the grain.
This is the light-coloured bag I am not afraid to use, which is rarer than it should be.
