Vert Criquet is a colour with courage — a young, yellow-leaning green, the green of new leaves and matcha spoons — and on the Bolide 1923 25 it is tempered by Evercolor’s matte, soft-grained surface into something friendly rather than loud. I carried it to a garden lunch and understood the point of the colour instantly: it makes everything around it look sunnier.
Evercolor is the middle path between Epsom’s discipline and Swift’s tenderness: softly grained, resistant to casual scuffs, but with a supple hand that lets the little dome breathe. The capacity brief is the standard twenty-five centimetre one — phone, compact wallet, pouch, keys, sunglasses — and the zip runs its full circle without catching on the curve.
Silver hardware cools the green in a good way; gold would have made it sweeter, and this colour does not need sweetness. The strap crosses the body; the short handle is perfect for a hand already holding a glass of something cold.
Honest notes, two. Bright green is a statement wherever it goes, so it wants a wardrobe that will play along — neutrals for contrast, denim for harmony; against other brights it gets noisy fast. Second, Evercolor being soft, the dome rounds gently over the years at the handle points, and the colour settles a shade deeper with sun, like grass in high summer. Both suit it, I think.
If you have been waiting for permission to buy a green bag: this small, this soft, this one is it.
