Black enamel on rose gold is the pairing I recommend when someone wants one pendant that handles both a job interview and a dinner. This Mini Pop H is a small letter, a third of an inch across, finished in black and hanging on a 15.7 inch chain of rose gold plating.
The contrast is what earns its keep. Against a white shirt the pendant reads graphic and deliberate, and against a black dress it almost disappears, which sounds like a fault until you want exactly that at a formal dinner. It is the one colour in the Pop H range that never looks out of place.
I keep mine fastened to the shorter of my two chains and layer it above a silver necklace, letting the rose gold and the darker letter sit at different heights so the eye keeps moving. Worn alone with a grey crew neck, it is the only jewellery I bother with.
Two things to know. The plating, not solid gold, means scent and sunscreen should go on before the pendant does; and black enamel hides scratches better than pale colours, though the gold rim will still show wear first. At 15.7 inches there is no extender, so check the drop suits you. Made in France.
My honest trade-off note is about weight rather than colour. At a third of an inch the pendant is very light, so a windy day will flip it over the chain and show its back. Some people find that charming, some find it untidy.
