Black wallets are the default because they hide everything, and the ones worth keeping give you a reason to open them. This Constance To Go does it with texture: Epsom’s pressed grain catches light like book cloth, so the flap has depth instead of flatness, and the enamel fitting stands out warm against it.
The dimensions are 20 by 3.5 by 12 cm, which is wallet territory rather than bag territory. Cards, notes and a bit of change live inside comfortably, and the strap means it can go out on its own when your hands are full. The enamel H is the single decoration, and it suits the restraint of the piece.
What I would flag after two years of use. Black on gold is a formal combination, and the enamel detail is the first thing to show dust and fingerprints. Both wipe off, but they will need wiping. Epsom itself has been effortless, still crack-free after being pulled in and out of a jacket pocket every day, with no softening at the spine and no shine at the corners.
My overall take is that this is the version to buy if you want one piece that works with a suit on Monday and a parka on Saturday and never looks out of place with either. It has been on planes, to funerals and to one very long hospital wait, and it did not show any of it.
