I bought my first cream bag after a garden wedding where every guest seemed to be carrying black. Craie — chalk white with the faintest warm undertone — was the antidote then, and this Kelly Mini 2 with gold hardware has stayed my summer default ever since. In Epsom’s embossed grain, the white has depth rather than flatness; it looks like painted plaster, not plastic.
At 19 x 12 x 5.5 cm, the mini format suits the way I dress in heat: phone, card holder, keys, sunglasses only in their soft pouch, a linen scarf. The gold turn-lock and studs glow warmly against the cream, which is exactly the point — gold helps white feel intentional rather than clinical, and the strap lets me wear it crossbody at garden parties where both hands are holding a glass.
Epsom makes cream liveable. It is heat-embossed and scratch-resistant, and its surface is smooth enough that a damp cloth takes care of most of what a city throws at it. I wipe mine once a week during summer, more out of habit than necessity, and it has kept its brightness through four seasons.
The honest part: cream leather and brand-new dark denim are not friends. Indigo can transfer onto the back panel in warm weather, and once it does it is stubborn. I keep this bag away from raw denim, dark satin and fresh self-tan, and it repays me by looking after itself. If you want a white bag you can genuinely use, this is the version of that promise I trust.
