A tri-colour bag sounds like a styling headache. It is the opposite. When Blue Brume, Gold and Vert Jade are worked into one small Epsom Kelly Mini 2, the result reads as a single cheerful object rather than three competing ones — and it saves me from matching anything at all, because the bag has already done the mixing.
Silver hardware was the right finish for this combination. Palladium keeps pale blue and jade looking fresh and slightly cool, where gold would have pushed the whole thing toward a warmth I didn’t need. The Epsom grain is rigid and embossed, so each colour block holds a crisp, graphic edge — this is not a bag that will ever look soft or slouchy.
At 19 x 12 x 5.5 cm it is a companion piece, not a workhorse. Phone, card case, keys, a lipstick and a compact mirror fit comfortably; a full-size wallet does not, so mine carries cards only. I wear it crossbody with jeans and a white shirt, and on the strap over one shoulder with a summer dress. The interior zip pocket takes care of anything loose.
An honest word on three tones: they limit your palette in a good way. Keep the outfit plain — denim, white, sand, navy — and the bag does the talking. The pale blue panels also deserve a little protection from brand-new dark denim, whose dye can transfer in the first weeks. Treated sensibly, this is the most fun I have had with a formal silhouette in years.
