Blue Agate is a greyed, dusty blue that photographs far quieter than it looks in person, where daylight gives it a real teal edge. I wore mine to a Saturday market on a whim and it has been my weekend bag ever since: jeans, a fisherman sweater, and this blue riding at the hip.
The open-top design makes it easy to work out of while standing. My wallet goes in the rear slip pocket, my phone stays in hand, and a folded tote lives inside for groceries. The twenty-nine centimetre body still has room for a water bottle and a notebook when the tote comes out.
Clemence on this colour shows its pebble grain beautifully, especially where the perforated H crosses the front panel. The leather is soft enough that the bag compresses against my side when I cycle, comfortable but a reminder that loose valuables should live in the pockets, not the open cavity. A drawstring pouch keeps cables and keys from wandering. The asterisk with this colour is rain: a few drops leave faint marks until the leather dries, though they lift with a dry cloth, and after two seasons I have stopped worrying about them.
Hardware is silver-tone, cool against the stone blue. Gold would pull the shade toward teal rather than grey and change the whole personality of the bag. This is a practical kind of blue, not a jewel tone, and that is exactly why I chose it.
