If you have ever wanted a white bag that behaves, this is the closest I have found. Craie is more chalk than paper, an off-white with warmth in it, and on the middle-size Evelyne it lifts a plain linen dress without dominating it.
The honest part first, because white leather asks for it. Clemence’s grain helps: dots of pigment break up the surface, so small grey marks blend instead of glaring. Ink, red wine and brand-new denim will still leave traces if you let them near. Mine carries one faint pen line inside the fold that I stopped noticing months ago, which tells you how the leather forgives over time.
Practical numbers: twenty-nine centimetres takes a phone, a cardholder, keys, a sunglasses case and a compact, with a metro card in the rear slip pocket. The adjustable strap hangs as a shoulder bag on me and as a crossbody on shorter friends, and it slides over a summer dress without catching.
Silver-tone metal keeps the palette cool and fresh. One more note for real life: the open top means dust and drizzle get in, so I lay a light scarf over the contents in transit. Upkeep is a dry cloth once a week and a little caution around dark coats, and that is the entire routine. Worth it for the way the bag brightens clothes that are otherwise very quiet.
