Blue Jean is the colour equivalent of your favourite pair of jeans – a washed, mid-tone blue that has no trouble being casual. Paired with Clemence’s thick natural grain and silver hardware, this Lindy 30 looks like something you could carry to a farmers market and to a client lunch in the same afternoon.
The shape is the signature part: two short rolled handles for the hand, a longer strap for the shoulder, and the whole body softening into folds at the top. In this leather the Lindy will not keep military corners; it settles and relaxes, which is exactly what makes it look lived-in after a month.
Practicalities: 30 cm across the base, 19 tall, 16 deep. The main compartment swallows a folder of A4 papers, a make-up pouch, a water bottle, a small camera and a light cardigan, and the two outer pockets take my phone and keys so I am not digging. The interior is one open space – no built-in organisation – so pouches are your friend.
One honest trade-off: Clemence is a heavyweight leather, and once loaded this bag has presence on the shoulder. The broad strap helps, but if you pack it for a full day you will know it is there. It also does not love rain, though a light shower has never hurt mine.
In short: forgiving, roomy and less uptight than the bags it competes with.
