Black covers most of my week; tan covers the weekend. This strap holds both, with a glossy black Box 135 face for the office and a warm gold-tan Togo reverse for Saturday, and a palladium buckle staying quiet in between. It is the least complicated belt I own, which I mean as a compliment.
At 38 mm the strap is about an inch and a half, wide enough to feel substantial on denim and heavy cotton. The pebbled Togo side is softer in the hand and resists marks; the smooth Box side is reflective and reads as the more formal surface of the two. Choosing between them means rotating the buckle, nothing more.
What I notice after months of wear is how differently the two leathers age. The glossy side slowly dulls where the strap bends at the buckle, which reads as character rather than damage, while the grained side looks almost as it did on day one. The tan face goes with brown boots, olive and camel; the black face goes with everything else in the wardrobe.
Two things to plan around: polished Box collects fine scuffs, and 38 mm is more than some tailored trouser loops will accept. Neither has stopped me wearing it four days a week. Waist sizes go from 80 to 115 cm in the usual steps; measuring where the belt sits is more reliable than converting from a trouser size, and a tape at the waistband takes a minute.
