Black leather with brown and gold accents is one of those combinations that looks accidental in a good way — like a well-worn leather jacket that has faded unevenly. This Rodeo wears it deliberately: a deep black body, Sienne brown touches and warm gold accents on the mane. It is the palette of old libraries and good saddles.
Built from Milo lambskin, ten by eight centimetres give or take a millimetre, with the gentle sheen that black dyes tend to take on this kind of leather. It stays flat against the bag and swings very little, which makes it the safest charm for a small, structured handle. The white stitching marking the saddle area is the detail I notice most. The gold accents are small enough that you only spot them on the second look.
I bought this one as a gift for a friend who owns exactly one bag and one watch. It was the first charm he had ever clipped on, and it survived a year of commuting, airport trays and rain without complaint. Black-and-tan forgives almost everything, which is the point of it. My friend now claims he chose it himself, which is the correct response.
Two honest notes: black lambskin shows lint and pale dust more than mid-tones, so brush it occasionally, and the charm can all but disappear on a black bag. Put it on a brown, cream or burgundy bag and the accents do their work. It is a beginning charm and a forever charm at once. Handmade in France.
