The best time to look at these is an hour before sunset, when the gold in the leather warms up instead of turning brassy. It is a real, wearable gold rather than a glitter: box calfskin with a metallic finish, kept smooth and slightly glossy, with a gold lining so the inside matches the outside. On the foot it reads as an accessory rather than a shoe.
The construction is the same as the rest of this flat family: the H cut-out across the instep, a natural leather sole, and a low heel that keeps you close to the ground. Sizes 36 to 41, made in Italy, reference H021056Z 03340. Batch differences in the sole are normal. On me they run true to size; if your feet swell in heat, consider going half a size up in a flat with this much contact.
I reach for them for evening things where heels would be the obvious answer and I want to be comfortable anyway: a rooftop drink, a wedding rehearsal, dinner in a courtyard. They look warm with black and elegant with navy, and they are the one flat I own that works with a silk dress.
Two honest points. Metallic finishes can crease visibly across the vamp, so do not expect the surface to stay mirror-perfect if you walk a lot. And box calf prefers dry weather; rain will mark it. A soft cloth and a little cream on the creases is enough to keep them looking intentional.
