If your bag is a black hole, an orange wallet is the simplest fix: it turns a two-minute dig into a two-second glance. This slim H Passant is orange in the warm, slightly earthy sense, with silver hardware keeping the tone from shouting.
It measures 18.5 by 12 cm and closes to just 1.6 cm, so it slips into an inside pocket or a tote’s side slot without adding bulk. The front carries the style’s small H detail, and the Epsom grain gives the surface an even, lightly cross-hatched texture that resists fingernail marks.
Inside, the essentials: slots for five cards, a channel for notes, and a zip that takes coins or a folded note. I keep a spare key in mine, which is the kind of thing the slim body tolerates because Epsom does not sag under pressure.
The honest note is about brightness rather than capacity. Orange draws the eye, so any scuff or dark mark on it will draw it too, and the pale edge of the flap collects dye from dark pockets. A wipe with a dry cloth every week or so keeps mine looking sharp, and I have stopped noticing the rest.
One more thing in its favour: orange works as a memory aid. Because there is exactly one bright object in my bag, I always know whether the wallet is with me, and I have not left it behind in a taxi since I started carrying it. That is worth more than any finish.
