The 23 size makes gold feel like a treat rather than a workhorse. In this small format, the warm tan reads as caramel, and against dark coats or denim it looks like something you chose on purpose.
My own Gold Neo Garden Party 23 does dinners and errands with equal grace. The 23 by 16 by 10 cm frame holds a phone, a card wallet, keys and a lipstick standing up, which is precisely the load a dinner bag should take; on weekends it takes sunglasses and a paperback instead, and the ten centimeter gusset keeps the paperback from being crushed.
Negonda’s matte calfskin stops the gold from going glossy, the way a satin finish stops gold jewelry from looking cheap. The silver hardware is a deliberate mismatch, warm leather against cool metal, and it works because both finishes share that matte, unshowy tone.
Two things I would tell a friend. First, hand-carry only: the handles are short by design, and there is no strap, so it is not a market-day bag if you need both hands. Second, Negonda softens and settles with use, so the bag will look slightly more relaxed in a year than it does today. I like that; some people want permanent crispness and should look at pressed leathers instead. The silver tabs, meanwhile, have stayed as bright as the day the bag arrived.
It is the small bag I reach for when the outfit is already busy.
