Cold blue and yellow gold is an old pairing, the one sailors and painters settled on long ago, and the Mini Clic in Bleu Polaire wears it like a holiday that follows you home. I bought it the week before a beach trip and it has lived in the holiday bag ever since.
The band is narrow, a third of an inch of enamel on a yellow-gold plated base, sized for a 6.3-inch wrist and fastened with the same toggle that opens to display the anchor link. The blue is pale and cool, the kind of colour that makes white look brighter next to it.
I wear mine through the summer with denim and linen, and I take it away with me because it survives a trip better than most pieces: no leather to stain, no worries beyond the usual plated care. It also plays well with a second silver or gold bracelet on the same wrist, and that stacking is honestly why I bought it.
The trade-off is enamel’s brittleness under hard knocks; against a stone floor or a car door it can chip, and pale blue shows a chip more than navy does. Treat it like a watch rather than a rope bracelet and it will stay pristine. Mine has one tiny mark near the clasp that nobody but me has ever noticed.
French-made, and the colour I would give someone who insists that blue never suits them, because it is quiet enough to prove the point gently.
