Can you really carry a pink bag? I get asked this at least once a month, and my answer has settled into: yes, but not the way you think. Rose Lipstick is a saturated, high-energy pink — the color does the talking, so the outfit should not compete. Grey wool, a white shirt, denim, camel. Let the bag be the one loud object.
On the Lindy 26, which spans 26 by 18 by 12 centimetres, the pebbled Clemence surface softens what could have been a sharp color; gold hardware meets the pink with warmth instead of contrast. The result is cheerful without being childish, which is a harder line to walk than it sounds.
What it holds is the usual load: phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, lipstick, a compact and a folding tote for the market. The two outer zips fit a card holder and a metro pass. Handles folded, strap on, it sits neatly under the arm — I find bright bags look best carried close, not swinging.
The trade-off is range. This pink narrows the outfits it agrees with, more than a red or a green would, and pale scuffs show on saturated colors the way they show on white. I treat mine as a deliberate bag: I choose it on days I want to feel put together and slightly amused, and that turns out to be most Tuesdays.
