The Lindy 19 became my flight bag without my deciding it. At 19 by 12.5 by 9 centimetres it tucks under the seat in front of me, sits in my lap through turbulence, and passes as a personal item without argument. In Blue Jean with silver hardware, the little bag looks faintly nautical — denim blue against cool metal — which suits airports more than it has any right to.
Clemence pebble grain gives the small body a soft structure that holds better than its size suggests; the handles still fold and the strap still swings it to the hip, though on the 19 I mostly carry it by the handles, or cross-body when my hands are full of documents. The smaller scale makes the grain look finer, almost dappled.
What fits, honestly: a passport sleeve, phone, a card holdall, earphones, keys and a lip balm. There is a slim outer pocket line where I keep a boarding pass, and the interior takes a thin paperback only if it is a paperback-shaped paperback. That is the deal with the 19 — it holds a day, not a workload.
Two notes if you are considering this size. The blue is a mid-denim that looks endlessly fresh against white and grey, but it will pick up indigo from raw denim the way every light-to-mid leather does — season your jeans first. And in winter the tiny bag all but disappears under a heavy coat; shorten the strap and carry it high, or it looks like you forgot it was there.
