Craie means chalk, and that is what it looks like: a white with a grey breath in it, softer than paper white and far kinder to most skin tones. If you have ever tried to match paint to a gallery wall, you will recognise the logic. It is not blanc, and that difference is the whole reason to choose it.
The Kelly Pochette in Swift calfskin keeps the 22 by 12 by 7 cm proportions, with silver hardware that reads cool and quiet against the off-white. Practically, it holds a phone, a slim cardholder, keys and lipstick, and it sits neatly on a table at dinner, which matters more than most reviews admit.
Owning a pale bag is a small commitment. Craie picks up transfer from dark wool and raw denim, and the smooth Swift surface shows a fingerprint now and then. A microfibre cloth and a little patience handle all of it, and I have never had a mark that would not lift. Storing it in its dust bag rather than on an open shelf keeps the shade stable over years.
Worn with grey, camel and black it looks expensive precisely because it refuses to compete. I would call it the most useful white bag I have owned, and I have owned a few. It has gone to weddings, hospitals and one very muddy country fair, and come through all of them.
