Buying a pink bag is usually a mistake. I say that as someone who has owned several: the wrong pink turns childish the second it leaves the shop window. 5P is not the wrong pink. It is a raspberry-leaning rose with enough depth to sit next to black, camel or navy clothing without wilting.
Epsom calfskin is the reason this works at 19 cm. The grain is heat-embossed into the surface, which makes the leather firm, scratch-resistant and stubborn about keeping its shape. A softer skin would collapse at this size; this one keeps the trapezoid crisp whether the bag is full or nearly empty. The silver hardware stays cool against the pink instead of warming it up.
In daily use it is a small-bag person’s small bag. My phone lies in the back with a cardholder and keys; lipstick and a flat compact go in front. I carry it in the hand to dinner and slide it inside a larger work tote during the day, and it adds almost no weight to either.
The honest note: Epsom does not develop patina. It looks essentially the same in year three as in year one, which some owners love and others find clinical. Pink also punishes friction — a dark wool coat or raw denim rubbed across the flap leaves a mark, and while a dry cloth lifts most of it if you catch it early, it will not vanish entirely.
