Blue Jean solved a problem nobody had better solved: a blue that behaves like denim and dresses like leather. Swift calfskin takes the dye vividly, so this Danse carries the colour brighter than any grained leather would. It is the shade I notice at ten paces, before I notice the bag.
The 22 × 16 × 7 body is built for the shoulder: no handle to fuss with, a broad flap, and silver hardware that keeps the blue honest. Swift is smooth and soft, and it drapes rather than stands, so the bag lies close and moves with you. The strap has enough length for a crossbody drape on a tall frame, which I checked on a friend first.
It holds a phone, wallet, keys and sunglasses, and on weekends I add a film camera without any buckling. Worn across the chest on a city walk, it has the easy authority of a favourite pair of jeans, and on the hip setting it tucks neatly under a swing coat.
The honest trade is Swift itself: smooth leather shows scratches more readily than pebbled grain, and a bright colour shows dry patches if it sits unloved. I treat mine like the denim it resembles: worn constantly, forgiven freely, conditioned once a season.
If you want one blue that will never look like an effort, this is the one. It has survived more rain than I should admit.
