Orange Field is not the orange you picture when you hear the name of this house. It sits a shade brighter and more yellow, closer to the fruit than to a traffic cone, and against the silver clasp and the small silver stud of the strap it reads modern rather than retro, which is exactly why I chose it over yet another neutral.
The shape is the Kelly Classique To Go wallet: roughly nineteen centimetres across, eleven and a half deep when open, and only 1.5 cm thick when shut, so it behaves like a long wallet and a clutch at once. Epsom gives it a taut, evenly stamped surface that resists scratching, and the heat-stamping is also why the colour comes out so level and saturated across the whole piece.
What fits: cards in the slots along the spine, a long channel for notes and receipts, and a zipped section for coins and a spare key. In daily rotation I take it out of a tote at the coffee counter and it looks like a small bag in its own right. The caveat with a colour this saturated is edge wear, since bright Epsom shows a lighter rub at the corners before black or grey ever would, so I keep it out of tight pockets.
It has been to supermarkets, a birthday dinner and one very long train ride, and all it has asked of me is a wipe to clear the odd fingerprint. If your wardrobe runs on denim and neutrals, this is the piece that stops it reading like a uniform.
