Nata on a long wallet is a different creature from Nata on a small one. Across nineteen centimetres the cream reads as beige in winter light and almost white in summer, and the whole surface becomes a warm, soft band against whatever you are wearing.
The build is the classic Kelly wallet shape – flap, two slim straps, slim profile – in Epsom, which keeps the pale dye even and stops the panel creasing around its folds. Gold hardware brings out the warmth; the piece looks like it belongs on a linen table.
Day to day it carries cards, notes, a key or two and the odd receipt, all of it lying flat because the wallet is only a centimetre and a half deep at the spine. It slides into an inside jacket pocket in summer, sits in the hand as a clutch at dinner, and vanishes into the lining of a tote in between.
One thing to accept before choosing this colour: Nata is pale enough that dark denim and fresh newsprint will both leave a mark if you are careless, and it will never look as crisp in a photograph as a pure white does. It compensates by looking warmer and more lived-in from the first week.
After four months, mine has one faint shadow at the strap edge and no other complaints. Gold hardware, warm leather and a long flat line: this is the wallet I hand to anyone who thinks cream belongs only to summer.
