With warm gold hardware, Togo’s pebbled Etoupe leans classic rather than cool – the grey-brown picks up the metal’s glow and turns, for an hour every evening, into something close to bronze. It is the version of this colour I wear most in winter, when the light is low and cool tones go flat.
The Kelly 28 is 28 by 22 by 10 centimetres of soft, structured space: wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, pouch and a slim notebook all ride without rearranging, and the detachable strap means it transitions from shoulder to hand at a door. The pebble grain gives the flap a subtly uneven surface that catches lamplight instead of flattening it.
In wear, the leather is honest: it softens at the top edge, takes on a gentle drape, and hides everyday knocks in its texture. I have carried mine through two winters of commutes, and the only visible change is a slightly deeper tone where my hand grips the handle – a detail I have come to like.
The trade is the familiar Togo one: a bag that relaxes will eventually show it. Stored filled and carried sensibly, that relaxation is slow and even; neglected on a hook, it can crease unevenly. The difference is entirely in the storage.
Against camel, cream, charcoal and navy, this Etoupe is the quiet bridge colour that lets everything else in the outfit talk.
