Bordeaux is the color I buy when I want a red that keeps its counsel. Deep wine with a brown base, it steps into the same slots as black, with grey tailoring, camel outerwear, even forest green, but it gives the outfit a pulse that black never will. On the rigid Epsom build of the 25, the depth reads almost lacquered.
Gold hardware lit the bag better than I expected; the warm metal pulls the red’s brown underpinning forward, making it look richer at night and quieter by day.
A 25 x 17 x 7 cm interior is not a place for optimism. Before leaving the house I move everything into the flat pockets: phone in, cardholder here, keys zipped away, and one lipstick in the slot I reserve for it. Packed that way it carries like nothing, which is exactly what I want from a dinner bag that also holds a phone.
The material behavior is classic Epsom: rain beads and wipes off, corners stay crisp, the flap keeps its snap. What Epsom will not do is relax. If you want a bag that rumples and softens around your things, look elsewhere. This one is happiest holding a clean line.
One practical note: in warm restaurant light, Bordeaux can read more brown than red, and some evenings I have found that surprisingly welcome. Test it in person if your closet is full of brick and rust tones; keep it if your closet is charcoal and navy.
