Pebble beige is grey’s warmer cousin, and on the Giulia it behaves like a stone you would keep in a pocket: matte, discreet, quietly tactile. The buckle is the flourish, a palladium Kelly shape with a matching beige calfskin insert set into the centre.
Underneath, the sandal keeps to the house pattern for this model: black leather sole, edge and heel, a heel of four-tenths of an inch with a slight front-to-back drop, and pebble beige lambskin through the insole and lining so nothing dark interrupts the colour.
I wear mine with stone, white and camel, and with dark denim only when the jeans are old and rinsed, because this is a light leather and indigo will transfer. It comes in 36 to 41, and the near-flat stance makes them viable for full afternoons on your feet.
The honest trade-off: the pale insole and lining show wear faster than the exterior ever will, and beige calfskin stains rather than patinas when it meets rain. Wipe feet, not just shoes, into the habit, and store them away from direct light so the tone stays even. Mine survived a rainy wedding season with two small cleanings and no visible scar.
After a season, the leather has softened at the straps and darkened a shade to a warm putty colour that suits the buckle’s calm metal. Made in Italy. The neutral sandal for people who find most neutrals a little too obvious.
