Vert Verone is a green with its collar buttoned: deep, slightly gray, more moss than meadow. It is the most sober of the greens in this range, and on Negonda’s pebbled surface it looks like something that has lived in a good wardrobe for years rather than something that arrived this season. Thirty by twenty-one by thirteen centimeters of quiet confidence.
Negonda keeps the leather soft and matte, so the deep green never shines. The silver snap is the only bright point on the bag. This is the green I wear with brown shoes and a gray coat, and it is the one I would hand to anyone nervous about color, because it reads almost neutral from across the street and rewards a closer look with real depth.
What I carry in it: a notebook, a fountain pen roll, a wallet, phone, keys and a light scarf. The open top keeps the pen roll upright against the side, the interior pocket takes the cards, and the bag sits stably on a library table while I work through the morning.
One honest note: deep greens photograph darker than they appear in person, so give this one a moment in daylight before you decide. The tone hides daily marks well, though it shows dust in bright sun, and like all Negonda it will soften and crease with use rather than keeping a hard edge. None of that bothers me. The green does the talking.
