The Finesse is a small piece of design wit: the toggle clasp that closes the maison’s most famous bracelet, scaled down until it can sit on an earlobe, set with thirty-four diamonds and cast in 750/1000 rose gold. It is also, frankly, a compliment magnet.
Once you know, you cannot unsee it. The bar and the loop that usually hide on the underside of a link become the whole ornament here, and the 0.92 carats give that geometry a soft, warm glitter. The motif measures 0.58 by 0.4 inches, so it reads best up close, when someone leans in to look.
I wear mine with the rose gold I already own, a thin chain and a signet ring, and they tie a warm palette together in a way white gold cannot. With a cream shirt or a camel coat the effect is quietly put together rather than obviously jewelled, which is exactly what I want from an earring carrying this much carat weight and this much detail in miniature.
Honest note: rose gold and diamonds is a warmer, less conventional combination than white, and some people will always prefer the colder look. Pavé motifs also catch fine hair, so check your strands before you take them off; a small tug is easy to miss and annoying to find later.
Made in France in solid rose gold, and light enough that I have worn mine from breakfast to midnight without a single thought about them.
