Chalk-white leather on a soft, slouchy bag sounds like a risk until you live with it. Clemence takes a wipe better than the pale smooth leathers I have owned, and six months in, my Craie Evelyne 23 still reads as white rather than as off-white with regrets.
Craie itself has a faint warmth, like the colour of good paper, so it never looks clinical against skin or knitwear. The silver hardware keeps that palette cool and bright, and the perforated H on the front almost disappears into the leather, which makes the bag feel even cleaner than it is.
I use mine from April onwards: a phone, a linen pouch, keys, sunglasses and a paperback go in without crowding, and the 7.5 cm depth means nothing bulges. That pouch has lived in mine since spring and has earned its keep. The strap adjusts far enough for crossbody wear on a long torso, and I often shorten it for evenings so the bag sits at the waist.
Honest warning: pale leather and dark denim are not friends. New indigo jeans can transfer colour at points of friction, so I keep mine away from raw denim entirely and wipe the corners with a soft dry cloth after a heavy week. Nothing has stained permanently so far, and I have stopped being nervous about carrying it.
Worth it for how much light this bag brings to a small summer wardrobe.
