Bambou is a yellow-green, the color of new shoots rather than of olive, and it is the most optimistic leather color I have ever bought. Silver hardware keeps the tone leafy and fresh, and on the first properly warm day of the year, this is the bag that comes out of the drawer first.
In Clemence the color has weight without being heavy: the pebbled grain deepens the green, and the soft body folds when you set it down. It is light enough to wear all day and never notice. The small Evelyne dimensions apply, sixteen by eighteen centimeters with five of depth, enough for a phone, a slim wallet, keys and a lip balm, with a little air left over.
The honest catch is that yellow-greens do not share a room well with army tones; wearing greens together at this temperature difference is an advanced move, and it ruled out half my winter wardrobe when I measured. Against navy, cream and denim, though, it is brilliant, and in spring there is nothing I would rather carry.
One habit I have developed: I wipe the leather after rainy walks, because light greens hold water marks longer than you would like. The five minutes it takes has kept mine looking like it did in April of its first year, which for this color is exactly the goal. Over two springs it has kept its tone without any sign of fading.
