Most of my taupe leather sits under gold. This one breaks the pattern — 18 Etoupe under silver hardware — and the difference is more interesting than I expected. Silver pulls the grey out of the shade and lets the brown undertone stay private, so the wallet reads cool by day and almost neutral at dinner.
It is a big piece only on paper. The 20 cm flap folds down to a tidy slab no bigger than a notebook cover, and all of it slides into a tote without a second thought. That size is the point: bills ride flat, a passport joins them on travel days, and there is still a middle for receipts without anything creasing. My everyday version carries two cards, a folded note and a transit pass, and it rattles around in there, cheerfully underfilled.
The pebbled surface of this Togo makes the colour look soft rather than flat, and after a full summer it has taken on a faint, even sheen from handling. The clasp is brushed just enough that it does not mirror fingerprints. Corners are where this leather shows time first, and mine are warming gently, which suits a shade this reserved.
The one thing I would flag: the size and the two-step closure make it a considered wallet rather than a quick one. I would not carry it to a market. In a coat or a bag, where it belongs, it has been the most useful wallet I own.
