I bought this for grey cities. Jaune Milton is that buttery, slightly vintage yellow — think old enamelware, not highlighter — and a bag in this colour on a rainy Monday does more for the mood of an outfit than any other accessory I own. It is the least aggressive way I know to wear colour in winter.
Swift calfskin was the right choice for this hue. The leather is nearly ungrained and light, so the yellow stays soft rather than flat, and the bag is the lightest of the Constance 19 family. Just under twenty centimetres across, it swallows a phone, cards, keys and a lip balm, and the long strap crosses a parka without snagging.
Silver hardware is the crisp counterpoint — gold would have made this sweeter, silver keeps it modern. The clasp, as always on this shape, is a solid piece of metalwork that lands with that satisfying click.
One honest warning worth repeating to anyone eyeing light yellows: smooth leather plus pale colour is the most care-hungry combination in this line. Ink, newsprint and raw denim all make their mark early. It does wipe clean, and the leather buffs back beautifully, but this is not the most relaxed bag here.
Choose it if you like the idea of a little sunshine on your shoulder in February. That feeling is worth the upkeep, in my experience.
