I bought the large version of this bag first, and the smaller Trench arrived a year later because the colour had become a habit. Same shade, different animal: at nineteen centimetres wide, fifteen high and four deep, S2 Trench Epsom stops being an everyday tote and becomes a personal one – the bag for lunches, gallery afternoons and travel days when a larger bag would be in the way.
Epsom in a light neutral is close to maintenance-free. The sealed grain means the beige cannot grab denim the way it would on suede or natural calf, and coffee splashes sit on the surface until you wipe them. With gold hardware, Trench turns a half-degree warmer – the pairing makes it look like well-worn ivory rather than clean new beige.
What fits: phone, cardholder, keys, lipstick – plus a slim sunglasses case only if I skip everything else. The interior holds its shape and the flap lines up with the gusset each time, so there is no wrestling. The fixed strap sits crossbody with the bag at my natural waist, which keeps both hands free in a crowd.
Something I would tell a friend before buying: at this size, the temptation is to overstuff, and an overfull Constance is not a good look – the flap ridge bends upward and the silhouette loses its polished edge. Treat nineteen centimetres as a hard limit, choose your three essentials, and the bag will always look correct. It also means you will notice how little you actually need.
