I bought Lime as a joke and kept it as a habit. Nine months later it is still the wallet that makes me smile when I open a jacket pocket, which is not a sentence I expected to write about a card holder.
The colour sits between green apple and chartreuse: bright in sun, almost yellow in shade, and surprisingly easy to live with because it reads as a neutral against denim and grey. Ten by seven centimetres, two sleeves, no closure, silver trim so fine you notice it only up close. Sunlight through a window is the real test, and this is the leather that turns a square of calf into something you want to leave on the table.
Swift’s fine grain keeps the bright dye from looking flat, and the chèvre backing gives the fold a crispness that stops it sagging with six cards inside. In a crowd of dark wallets on a restaurant table, this is the one people pick up and ask about.
The honest note is about wardrobe maths: nine jackets out of ten, Lime does not belong. It is superb with navy, white, black, denim and every shade of grey, and a lost cause beside burgundy, olive or brown.
Treat it as a summer wallet – the one you reach for between May and September – and it will never feel like a mistake. In a drawer it is also the easiest thing to spot, which quietly ended years of rummaging through darker pieces.
