I first noticed this bag at a spring wedding, where a guest carried its twin all evening, and I borrowed the idea for my own wardrobe the same season — because a small white bag solves festive dressing in one move. Craie on the Mini 18 is a plaster white, warm rather than clinical, and the gold hardware keeps it that way.
Chèvre gives the white a matte, almost chalk-drawn texture that photographs beautifully. It is also, at this size, the lightest bag I have taken to a reception: phone, cardholder, keys, a lipstick and a lace handkerchief in eighteen centimetres of dome, with nothing pressed against the zip.
Occasions it suits: garden parties, civil ceremonies, hotel breakfasts where everything else feels too casual — any moment when the outfit wants light. And after the event comes a small ceremony of your own: cloth out, wipe down, dust bag. It is a two-minute habit, and it keeps the white white.
The care is the caveat. White leather forgives nothing — ink, denim, even dusty railings. Mine travels in its dust bag and never touches a café floor; the reward is that Craie stays bright the way no cream shade manages. If you want low maintenance, pick a deeper tone instead.
Worn the right way, though, it is the most useful thing in a summer closet — it makes a tan suit look sharper and a floral dress look calmer. Just budget two minutes of wiping after each outing, and the white keeps its promise.
